June 4, 2019, Update: On May 28, Reginald Miller, 43, was arrested in relation to this case. Miller has been charged with hit and run resulting in serious injury or death, failure to report accident, failure to maintain lane and driving with a suspended or revoked license. The TIU continues to investigate this case.

SAVANNAH, GA (May 24, 2019) – Savannah Police’s Traffic Investigation Unit is investigating a crash that fatally wounded a pedestrian on Interstate 95 this morning.

At around 2:10 a.m., Darel Dodge, 60, was walking in the emergency lane area of southbound Interstate 95, near mile marker 105. At the same time, a light blue 2006 Honda Odyssey van was traveling south on Interstate 95. The van left the southbound travel lanes and struck Dodge, who succumbed to his injuries.

The driver of the Honda Odyssey fled the scene prior to police’s arrival on scene.
