09/15/2020 UPDATE: The victim in the pedestrian-involved hit-and-run on September 14 has succumbed to her injuries. Stanasia Campbell, 22, has now been charged with homicide by motor vehicle along with the previous charge of felony hit-and-run. The name of the decedent is being withheld pending notification of next of kin.
SAVANNAH, GA (September 14, 2020) – Savannah Police’s Traffic Investigation Unit is investigating a hit-and-run that caused serious injuries to a pedestrian early this morning.
At around 12:40 a.m. today, officers responded to the hit-and-run that injured an adult woman at the Marathon Gas Station on the 1800 block of Montgomery Street. Emergency personnel transported the woman to the hospital in serious condition.
Investigative efforts resulted in officers identifying and locating the vehicle involved in the incident. The suspect, later identified as Stanasia Campbell, 22, was located in the suspect vehicle. She was subsequently arrested and charged with felony hit and run and serious injury by motor vehicle.
The name of the victim is being withheld pending notification of her injuries to her next of kin. At this time, the victim is still in serious condition.
