SAVANNAH, GA ( January 10, 2012) Multi jurisdictional car thief caught red-handed in Savannah.
Just before 8 p.m., Monday night SCMPD dispatch received a call about a wanted person. The caller told police that they recognized a suspect wanted for auto theft, that the suspect was in the stolen vehicle southbound on Ogeechee Road, and the suspect was dressed as a woman.
An officer was dispatched on the call and located the vehicle within minutes. The suspect Lemar Neil ROBINSON, 24, was located at a gas station in the 6000 Block of Ogeechee Road. He was taken into custody without incident.
Robinson was charged with theft by conversion, theft by receiving, and numerous other traffic violations. Robinson was transported to the Chatham County Detention Center and will also be held for the Bulloch County Sheriff’s Office.
( the car thefts started December 19th in Effingham County, moved to Chatham County December 20th and then to Bulloch County January 5th.)
