SAVANNAH, GA (September 11, 2015): West Chatham Precinct detectives of Savannah-Chatham Metropolitan Police Department have identified Jason Ramsey, 44, as the suspect who broke into a West Chatham shoe store on July 27, and made off several hundred dollars-worth of stolen shoes and backpacks.
On Sept. 4 Ramsey was arrested during a warrant service at his residence on Diana Mackenzie Road. Inside, investigators recovered all of the items stolen from Rack Room Shoes on South Gateway Boulevard. Lawn equipment reported stolen in a commercial burglary in Bryan County also was recovered.
On Sept. 4 SCMPD charged Ramsey with commercial burglary. Today, Metro charged him with felony theft by receiving stolen property for the items stolen in Bryan County, where Ramsey faces additional charges.
Local media coverage of the crime resulted in a tip that aided in Ramsey’s arrest.
