SAVANNAH, GA (September 30, 2010): Savannah-Chatham Metropolitan Police are investigating an accident that shut down Hwy 17 Northbound at Hwy 204, for more than 2 hours this morning.
At 6:30 a.m., officers were dispatched to a accident involving a vehicle and a motorcycle. SCMPD Major Accident Investigations Team responded. They determined the vehicle, a 1978 Chevrolet Camaro was in the turn lane on Hwy 17. The driver was attempting to turn left on to Hwy 204, when he was struck by a 2006 Harley Davidson motorcycle that was traveling north on Hwy 17 and was operated by Mr. Rodney Clark, 46, of Midway.
Mr. Clark was ejected from the motorcycle and was transported to Memorial Medical Center where he is listed in critical condition. This is an ongoing investigation.
