SAVANNAH, GA (November 1, 2010): Savannah-Chatham Metropolitan Police are investigating a cutting that has sent one man to the hospital with serious injuries.
Just after 6:00 p.m., officers received a call of a man bleeding from his throat. The victim stumbled out of the woods located across from the church at 17 Quacco Road. He had his throat cut and was bleeding profusely. EMS transported him to Memorial University Medical Center with serious injuries.
Detectives responded as well as SCMPD K-9, a perimeter was established and a crime scene was discovered back in the woods.
The victim had a wallet, however it did not contain identification. He was taken into surgery before he could be questioned, so his identity is still unknown at this time. A suspect was questioned by detectives, Rafael Torres-Miranda, 51, has been arrested and charged with aggravated assault and public drunkenness.
