UPDATE: Savannah-Chatham Metropolitan Police Department Violent Crimes detectives took a 14-year-old male suspect into custody May 12, who is charged with involuntary manslaughter in reference to the April 7 shooting death of Jajuan McDowell. The juvenile, who turned himself in this morning, was transported to the Regional Youth Detention Center without incident.

SAVANNAH, GA (April 8, 2016): The Savannah-Chatham Metropolitan Department Violent Crimes detectives are investigating a shooting that claimed the life of a male teen at approximately 4:30 p.m., April 7, at a residence in the 1300 block of East 69th Street.
Jajuan McDowell, 14, suffered a fatal gunshot wound at the residence and was transported to Memorial University Medical Center where he was later pronounced deceased.
McDowell and a second teen were reportedly playing with a firearm at the time of the shooting.
