SAVANNAH, GA (June 9, 2015): A 26-year-old Savannah man received serious injuries when the car he was driving crashed into a stopped train and wedged under it this morning.
Kareem Savage was removed from the wreckage of the 1995 Buick Headmaster by Savannah Fire and Rescue and transported for treatment. No other occupants were in the car.
The Norfolk-Southern freight train was stopped on Stiles Avenue just north of Feeley Street in west Savannah, preparing to back cars into a business, when the Buick crashed into and under one of the freight cars.
Major Accident Investigation Team (MAIT) officers with the Savannah-Chatham Metropolitan Police Department continue to investigate.
