SAVANNAH, GA (November 25, 2019) – The deceased has been identified as Cody Barrow, 26, who is homeless.
SAVANNAH, GA (November 15, 2019) – Savannah Police’s Traffic Investigation Unit is investigating an afternoon crash on Abercorn Street that resulted in the death of a pedestrian.
Around 3:30 p.m. officers responded to Abercorn Street at Mercy Boulevard and discovered an adult male suffering from life-threatening injuries. According to a preliminary investigation, the pedestrian was attempting to cross the eastbound lanes of Abercorn Street when he was struck by an oncoming GMC Sierra driven by John Critz, 20, of Savannah. The pedestrian was not in a crosswalk at the time of crash.
He was transported to a hospital where he died as a result of his injuries. His identity is not being released at this time pending notification of next of kin.
The crash remains under investigation.
