SAVANNAH, GA (October 28, 2011): Some Downtown streets will be closed to parking and traffic Saturday for the Savannah State University Homecoming Parade.
Automobiles parked in the staging area and on the route still parked after 7 a.m. will be towed at the owners’ expense.
Staging the 300 units, 500 people and 15 floats expected to participate will begin at 7 a.m. on East Broad Street. The street will be closed from East Gwinnett to East Liberty streets from 7 a.m. until the units have cleared the area.
The parade begins at East Broad and Liberty and proceeds north to Broughton Street, west to MLK Jr..Boulevard and south to Anderson Street before turning west and disbanding. It starts at 9 a.m. and is expected to be finished by 1 p.m.
