SAVANNAH, GA (October 24, 2013): Several road closures are planned along the Savannah State University Homecoming Parade route, set for 9 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 26.
At 7 a.m. Saturday, roads along the EAST Broad Street staging area will be closed to drivers from Gwinnett Street to Liberty Street. Roads throughout the remainder of the parade route will close to vehicular traffic at 9 a.m.
The parade begins at East Broad and Liberty Streets, then moves west at Broughton Street. It will then travel on Broughton to MLK. Finally, the precession will head south on MLK to Anderson Street, where it will disband.
Flyers advising residents of no parking zones are posted throughout the parade route and staging area. Meters in no parking zones will be marked by 3 p.m. Friday. Parked vehicles remaining in the specified locations after 7a.m. Saturday will be towed.
Drivers are advised to seek different routes.
