SAVANNAH, GA (October 22, 2010): Savannah-Chatham Metropolitan Police are investigating two shootings that left one man dead and two hospitalized.
Just after 7:35 p.m., officers were dispatched to the 2100 Block of California Avenue after receiving reports of a shooting. Officers found two victims suffering from gunshot wounds. Both victims were transported to Memorial University Health Center. One victim was later pronounced dead at the hospital, the second remains in serious but stable condition.
In a separate incident, at 8:10 p.m., a man showed up at Candler Hospital suffering from a gunshot wound. He told officers he was shot while driving his vehicle near the intersection of Staley Street and Montgomery Street. He was suffering from a non-life threatening injury.
Detectives are still in the early stages of both investigations.
