SAVANNAH, GA ( June 22, 2011 ) One man is dead and another in the hospital after a three vehicle accident last night.
The on-ramp to I-95 southbound at Hwy 204 was closed for several hours as Savannah-Chatham Metro Police Major Accident Investigations Team investigated a two-motorcycle accident. They determined that just after 9:30 p.m., Roosevelt Dunn, 43, was traveling up the ramp when he lost control of his Harley Davidson and was thrown to the pavement.
Another rider that was traveling on the same ramp, was unable to avoid him and struck Dunn with his Harley Davidson. The rider of the second bike was ejected from his bike and the rider-less bike continued southbound on I-95 and then struck a vehicle. There were no injuries from that collision. Mr. Dunn was transported to Memorial University Health Medical Center where Dunn later died from his injury. The second rider was also transported to Memorial and his condition was listed as serious but stable. The case is under investigation.
