Lt. Robert Gavin, Lt. David Gay, Lt. Joy Gellatly, Sgt. David Barefield,, Sgt. Alex Tobar and Training Director Gary Taylor were selected for the Savannah Leadership in Police Organization’s (LPO) Faculty Development Workshop. Once these six individuals complete the Faculty Development Workshop, they will be able to begin teaching the LPO class to other members of the SCMPD. Presently, SCMPD plans to have a Master Instructor from the IACP teach 50% of future LPO courses; the other 50% will be taught by SCMPD personnel, with the oversight of IACP instructors.
