SAVANNAH, GA ( March 19, 2011) Savannah-Chatham Metro Police announce arrests from festival.
According to All involved this has been a pretty smooth festival, so far. We have had a few strange incidents. At 11p.m. on the 17th, Christopher Grimes, 27, of Guyton was charged with interference with government property after he physically attacked a police car.
On the 18th just after 1 a.m., Aaron Thomas Klelbacker, 25, of Hunter Army Airfield, was charged with battery, simple battery and obstruction by resisting. This happened after Klelbacker allegedly bit an employee at a local bar and then resisted by striking one of the officers when they attempted to break it up,
In another mentionable incident Michael Stull, 24, of New River Inlet, North Carolina, was charged with striking a law enforcement horse after he physically struck one of the mounted patrol.
In total SCMPD has logged 119 arrests. 99 in City Market and 20 on River Street. The top five charges are disorderly conduct with 16 arrests. 12 Seatbelt violations. Public urination with 10 arrests. Public intoxication with 7 arrests and affray with 5 arrests rounds out the top five charges we are seeing so far.
