SAVANNAH, GA ( March 5, 2011) The Savannah Chatham Metro Police are investigating a home invasion that resulted in a child being shot on Savannah’s east side last night.
Just before 3:30 a.m., police were dispatched to the 2200 Block of Iowa Street on report of a home invasion. Officers were advised by the victim that she received a knock at her door and was greeted by two men with guns.
The men attempted to force their way into her home, and during the attempted robbery her 5-year-old child was shot by one of the suspects.
The child was transported to Memorial University Medical Center with serious injuries. The suspects fled the area in a dark colored sedan.
The suspects descriptions are as follows: The first suspect is a black male, he has a light complexion, 6’2″, gold teeth on top and bottom, wearing a black hooded sweatshirt, black pants and black shoes. The second suspect is described as a black male having a dark complexion
