SAVANNAH, GA (July 12, 2011): Quick action by Central Precinct patrol officers aided by a number of neighbors who continuously provided information helped police arrest one burglary suspect and question two others Monday evening.
Najee Redmon Frazier, 21, of the 500 block of Early Street, was chased to Hamilton Court where a police canine helped find him hiding in the back yard. He has been charged with burglary, obstruction and a probation violation, all felonies.
A second man and a woman were questioned after several witnesses told police they had seen him run to a maroon SUV she was driving and speed away. Witnesses reported seeing the SUV parked in a nearby parking lot and others pointed the couple out to police later as they calmly walked past the crime scene. They were released after questioning.
Savannah-Chatham Metropolitan Police were called to the 800 block of East 37th Street just before 5 p.m. by neighbors who saw two men breaking into a house and provided detailed descriptions.
Police quickly secured the front and rear of the house and spotted two males run from it in different directions. Frazier, clad in a white tank top and pink shorts, ran East on 37th Street. The other, wearing a white tank top and blue jeans, ran to Seiler Avenue. Police set up two perimeters to contain the suspects.
