SAVANNAH, GA (May 4, 2015) Accidents involving motorcycles left two men in critical condition Monday afternoon.
Julian C. Fulton Jr., 56, of Jesup, and Wilson Pena, 24, of Savannah were transported to Memorial University Medical Center after crashes about an hour apart.
Fulton was riding a 2015 Harley Davidson Ultra northbound on Truman Parkway and changed lanes to allow another vehicle to merge onto the highway and lost control when its tires ran hit the rumble strip on the side of the highway.
The motorcycle left the highway and flipped over a guard rail just south of the Eisenhower exit about 3:37 p.m..
Wilson Pena, 24, of Savannah was transported to Memorial after his motorcycle collided with a car attempting a U-turn in front of him on Abercorn Street in front of Best Buy at 4:48 p.m. The force of the crash catapulted him over the car.
He was riding a Suzuki motorcycle southbound on Abercorn when the Buick Gran Sport he was behind in the far left lane moved to the center lane and attempted the turn. The Buick was driven by a 17-year-old Savannah woman.
The Major Accident Investigation Team (MAIT) of the Savannah-Chatham Metropolitan Police Department continues to investigate both accidents.
