SAVANNAH, GA (December 18, 2017) – Savannah-Chatham Metropolitan Police Department’s Central Precinct officers quickly arrested a man who committed an armed robbery on December 15.
Around 8:25 p.m on December 15, officers responded to an armed robbery at Bojangles’ in the first block of East Derenne Avenue. The suspect, later identified as 19-year-old Charles Freeman, entered the business and brandished a gun, making demands for money. After taking cash from the business, he ran from the scene.
Because of officers’ swift response, they were able to find and arrest Freeman within minutes.
Freeman was charged with two counts of aggravated assault and one count each of armed robbery, possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime and obstruction of an officer.
