SAVANNAH, GA (January 22, 2018) – Metro officers and Georgia State Patrol worked together to arrest two men for a carjacking last week.
About 11:35 p.m. Jan. 19 the two suspects, who were armed with guns, approached the occupants of the vehicle at 40th and Jefferson streets and demanded they get out.
About 12:45 a.m. a Georgia State Patrol trooper stopped the suspected vehicle on Martin Luther King Boulevard. The vehicle fled and soon after crashed into a building in the 1800 block of Martin Luther King Boulevard. Through a joint effort between troopers and Metro officers, the two suspects, Darrell Gordon Jr., 24, and Jamal Stokes, 17, were taken into custody. A BB gun was located outside of the vehicle.
The suspects were charged with hijacking a motor vehicle and various traffic offenses.
