SAVANNAH, GA (April 11, 2015) – The Undercover Narcotics Investigation Team (UNIT) of the Savannah-Chatham Metropolitan Police Department has concluded a month-long investigation which has resulted in several arrests and the recovery of firearms, cash and drugs.

The investigation focused on street-level narcotics dealers in the Downtown Precinct. As a result, two search warrants were executed Friday morning by members of the UNIT, SWAT, Precinct Three and Precinct Five’s Crime Supression Units and K-9 teams from the SCMPD and CCSO.

Chief Joseph H. Lumpkin, Sr. said, “The UNIT’s members are demonstrating an outstanding work ethic as they target armed offenders, street drug dealers and gang members. We encourage citizens to provide the information UNIT members need to arrest such dangerous individuals and groups.”
