SAVANNAH, GA (December 8, 2015): Savannah-Chatham Metropolitan Police Department’s Violent Crimes detectives ask the public’s help in the continued search for Johnathan Maurice Gibbs, 18, wanted in connection to a Nov. 26 shooting on Oak Forest Ln.
On Thanksgiving morning, Metro officers found Bobby Owens, 43, of Savannah, deceased in front of an apartment building.
After further investigation, detectives identified Gibbs as the suspect in Owens’ death. Detectives obtained warrants for Gibbs’ arrest on the charge of murder.
Gibbs is described as a black male, standing 5-5 and weighing approximately 130 pounds. Gibbs is known to frequent areas near Park and Waters avenues and the Oak Forest Apartment complex.
Gibbs is considered armed and dangerous. Anyone who sees Gibbs should call 911 immediately and avoid approaching him.
