Savannah-Chatham Metropolitan Police investigators are searching for a man who attempted to rob a southside Savannah business November 2.
Detectives would like to question Damien Boykins, 22, of Savannah in reference to the incident which occurred at a restaurant on the 10000 block of Abercorn Street. At about 5:36 a.m. that day, Metro responded to reports of a man with a shirt wrapped around his face, exposing only his eyes, entering the business and demanding cash from the register. After multiple refusals by the cashier the man left the premises on foot. It is unknown whether he was armed.
About 4 ½ hours before the incident, Boykins ordered food from the restaurant wearing a shirt resembling the one covering the suspect’s face. Both the attempted robbery suspect and Boykins have lazy right eyes. Boykins is described as a black male standing about 6 feet tall and weighing 175 pounds. He has a dark complexion and facial hair.
