SAVANNAH, GA (May 17, 2016): Savannah-Chatham Metropolitan Police Department’s Major Accident Investigations Team is investigating a one vehicle wreck that diverted traffic for several hours and injured one person on May 17.
At approximately 1:30 p.m., Rachel Everett, 29, was traveling eastbound on Interstate 16 in a Honda Civic. Reportedly, as she approached the curve east of the 37th Street Extension exit, she lost control of the vehicle and struck a guard rail before spinning and hitting the guard rail a second time.
Everett was transported to Memorial University Medical Center with serious but non-life-threatening injuries.
Metro was able to clear the scene before rush hour traffic. This is an ongoing MAIT investigation.
