SAVANNAH, GA (December 11, 2016): Savannah-Chatham Metropolitan Police Department’s Major Accident Investigations Team is investigating a single-vehicle wreck that claimed the life of one man in the evening hours of Dec. 10.
At approximately 10:49 p.m., Metro responded to the 600 block of Fort Argyle Road locating an overturned 1999 Chevrolet S-10 pick-up truck. The driver, Jeffrey Williams, 52, was deceased on scene.
Investigators believe Williams was traveling westbound on Fort Argyle Road when he veered off to the north side of the roadway striking two mailboxes. In an attempt to maneuver back onto the roadway, he traveled off to the south side of the roadway into a ditch. The vehicle struck a tree and then overturned, ejecting Williams.
