SAVANNAH, GA (March 15, 2012): Crime Suppression Unit officers from the Central Precinct got more than they expected Wednesday night when their search of a suspected drug house yielded drugs, drug related objects and a gun stolen from a detective last year.
The Savannah-Chatham Metropolitan Police units culminated a two-month investigation by executing a search warrant on a house in the 800 block of West 38th Street about 4:30 p.m. They seized three guns, including one belonging to a police officer whose house was burglarized last August.
The investigation had led CSU officers to expect some drugs and perhaps a gun would be in the house. They found powdered and crack cocaine, marijuana, scales of the type commonly used to package drugs and the three guns.
Deaundra Kentrell Brown, 22, who lived in the house, was charged with possession of a controlled substance with intent to distribute, possession of a firearm in committing a crime, possession of drug related object, possession of marijuana less than an ounce and theft by receiving stolen property.
Fess Leon Louper, 20, of the 800 block of East 33rd Street, was charged with possession of a controlled substance with intent to distribute, possession of marijuana with intent to distribute, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon and possession of a drug related object.
The investigation is continuing by detectives from the Central and West Chatham precincts.
