SAVANNAH, GA. (November 15, 2013): Savannah-Chatham Metropolitan Police Department’s Traffic Investigators are searching for the driver involved in a hit and run accident in west Savannah this morning.
At 5:56 a.m. Metro responded to reports of a vehicle accident involving a bicyclist on Ogeechee Road and Tremont Road. On arrival, investigators observed that the driver fled the scene, leaving the bicyclist with serious but non-life threatening injuries.
The suspect’s vehicle is described as a white pickup truck, with a white cap on the back, and windows along the sides. There will be frontend damage.
Traffic Investigators are reviewing surveillance footage of the suspect driving into a gas station parking lot near the accident scene, before leaving the area.
Metro’s Major Accident Investigation Team (MAIT) is investigating.
