SAVANNAH, GA (August 19, 2011): A 24-year-old Savannah woman has been charged with three felonies after taking $5,500 from the bank where she worked.
Detective. Star Cpl. R.J. Woodberry of the Savannah-Chatham Metropolitan Police Financial Crimes Division said Rebecca Lee Strickland of Fleming Loop Road was charged with theft by taking, forgery in the first degree and computer theft.
Between May 6 and June 22she was a teller manager at The Heritage Bank at 6000 Ogeechee Road and removed the cash from her cash drawer. She left tickets indicating the cash had been placed in the vault.
On June 22a routine audit of Strickland’s cash drawer was conducted and the shortages were discovered.
