SAVANNAH, GA (December 23, 2010): One man has been arrested and two others are being sought after a Nov. 5 home invasion in which three victims were robbed and one was pistol whipped.
Savannah-Chatham Metropolitan Police have arrested Christopher Mitchell, 19, for the robbery of two men and a woman in their residence on the 200 Block of Quacco Road. He has been charged with armed robbery and aggravated assault. Police also are seeking the public’s help in locating Jason Hamrick, 22, and Gary Michael Johnson, 21 of the 1200 Block of Stiles Avenue.
Hamrick is a white male, 22, 5-foot-10, 200 pounds with short, brown hair and hazel eyes. Johnson is a black male, 5-foot-7, 150 pounds with short black hair and brown eyes.
Johnson also is being sought after escaping from the receiving area of the Chatham County Detention Center on Thanksgiving Eve. He had been arrested on charges of theft by receiving (firearm), carrying a concealed weapon and false information and was being removed from a police van in a fenced area when he slipped a hand out of restraints, scaled a fence and rolled over razor wire to escape.
Detective Jeron Young of the SCMPD Robbery Division said the three victims were in the residence when Mitchell and Hamrick came over to play video games. Once in the residence, one of the suspects opened the back door to allow Johnson to enter with guns he provided the other two suspects.
The victims were robbed and one of the men was beaten severely before the three suspects left.
