SAVANNAH, GA. (March 11, 2014): Downtown precinct detectives from the Savannah-Chatham Metropolitan Police Department have obtained additional videos of subjects wanted for questioning in the damaging of a historical park Sunday morning.
Three males are shown in videos exiting a blue Ford Mustang and walking into a convenience store just after a car matching that description drove onto Battlefield Park at Louisville Road and MLK Jr. Boulevard about midnight Sunday morning and spun around in circles on the parade ground and monument section. The occupants are shown entering the store, waiting to use a restroom and leaving the restroom. A few seconds later, the blue Mustang is seen exiting the parking lot.
The driver is wearing a black button up shirt, blue jeans and the short military style haircut. The front seat passenger is wearing a black shirt, black pants and an Atlanta Falcons baseball cap. The back seat passenger is dressed in a blue plaid shirt, tan pants and a blue baseball cap turned backwards.
The Mustang, believed to be about a 2010 model with chrome exhausts, was shown on a previous video crossing MLK Boulevard headed west onto Louisville Road. It could be seen a few seconds later in the background spinning circles in the park. Stones on the monument were heavily damaged and deep ruts were left in the parade ground lawn.
The car may be a color Ford calls Vista Blue.
Anyone with information on the case, the Mustang or any of the males in the videos is asked to call Crimestoppers at (912) 234-2020 or text CRIMES (274637) using the keyword CSTOP2020. Tipsters remain anonymous and may qualify for a cash reward.
