Update: Asim Simmons turned himself in to CCDC at approximately 3:30 p.m. He is charged with three counts of aggravated assault, one count of home invasion in the first degree, one count of criminal damage to property in the first degree, and one count of cruelty to children in the third degree.

SAVANNAH, GA (April 6, 2016): Savannah-Chatham Metropolitan Police Department’s Violent Crimes Division is searching for a man who is suspected of committing a home invasion and several aggravated assaults April 6 around 5:30 a.m.
Asim Simmons, 41, is suspected of breaking into a residence on the 400 block of Barnhill Road. The night before, Metro responded to the residence because Simmons made threats to the occupants. After officers escorted him from the premises he returned at approximately 5:30 a.m. when a domestic altercation ensued. Two adults and one juvenile were cut as a result of the incident. The suspect immediately fled the scene. One of the victims was able to seek help at the 8900 block of Harmon Bluff Road where the occupants called 911.
The two adult victims were transported to Memorial University Medical Center. One suffered serious injuries while the other suffered non-life-threatening injuries. The juvenile was treated at the scene for non-life-threatening injuries.
Simmons was last spotted near the Whitaker and Henry Streets area around 8 a.m. He is believed armed and dangerous. Anyone aware of his location should call 911 immediately and avoid approaching him.
