SAVANNAH, GA (July 29, 2015): A Shot Spotter notification late Monday night resulted in a shooting investigation by Savannah-Chatham Metropolitan Police.
At about 10:50 p.m. Metro patrol officers arrived at the 2100 block of Bolling Street, after a Shot Spotter alert moments earlier. Responding officers recovered evidence of at least one gun being fired in the area.
By 10:53 p.m. Metro units responded to Memorial University Medical Center, where Leslie Smith, 17, was receiving treatment for a non-life threatening bullet wound. Investigators traced Smith’s injury back to Bolling Street.
A silver four-door sedan was seen in the area at the time of the shooting. The suspect is unknown.
