SAVANNAH, GA (September 24, 2015): Savannah-Chatham Metropolitan Police Department’s Downtown Precinct investigators ask the public’s help in locating the person who may have broken a church window while attempting to hide a gun on Tuesday afternoon.
At about 12:30 p.m. Downtown precinct officers attempted to stop two male subjects near Charlton and Habersham streets for a city ordinance violation. Metro officers briefly pursued one subject on foot as he proceeded to run. That subject was not caught. The second subject was detained and eventually released.
Minutes later, Downtown Precinct officers responded to a church on the 400 block of Abercorn street, following reports of a man running toward the building, throwing a gun through one of its windows, then fleeing the area. Metro recovered the gun.
Investigators seek to locate Angelo Harley, 18, in reference to this case. Harley is described as a black male, standing 6-0 and weighing 150. He wore a white polo-style shirt and dark colored pants during the incident. Harley may be riding a bike and is known the frequent Fred Wessels Homes and the Downtown area.
