SAVANNAH, GA (September 10, 2013): The Savannah-Chatham Metro Police Marine Patrol will conduct a boating safety course on Saturday, Sept. 21 at the SCMPD Training facility in the Savannah Mall (on the second floor next to Dillard’s).
The course is free and is required of boaters of certain ages to operate certain vessels. The class begins at 8:30 a.m. and lasts until 4 p.m. with a break for lunch. Class size is limited to 25 participates.
On July 1, 2014, a new Mandatory Education Law will require anyone born after Jan. 1, 1998 who operates a powerboat in Georgia, to have completed a DNR approved boat education course.
