SAVANNAH, GA (October 18, 2011): FBI and Savannah-Chatham Metro are looking for a man who robbed one bank today and may have been responsible for robbing at least one other.
The black male walked into the Wells Fargo branch in McAlprin Square Shopping Center at 1900 East Victory Drive just after noon and handed a teller a note claiming to have a gun and demanding money. He left on foot, running north on Wallin Street and east on East 40th Street.
He was described as approximately 5-foot-8, with a slim build. He was wearing a Navy blue ball cap with a Direct TV logo, a royal blue shirt with an emblem on it, black jeans and tennis shoes. He appeared to have short hair under his cap and some facial hair. He may have red stain on him after a dye pack included in the bag he took from the bank detonated in the parking lot.
Law enforcement officials are investigating the possibility this man may be responsible for at least one other bank robbery in the area this year.
