SAVANNAH, GA (June 17, 2011): Police are investigating the sexual assault of a woman by two men who drove up as she walked a neighborhood seeking cell phone reception this morning.
The 26-year-old woman said she was at a friend’s residence off Fort Argyle Road about 2:30 a.m.and walked outside to find an area where her phone would receive a cell signal. She had reached Fort Argyle when a vehicle stopped and two men forced her to a wooded area.
They choked her and hit her in the mouth as she struggled and then sexually assaulted her until they heard a car approaching and ran. The victim was treated at a Savannah hospital for injuries received in the struggle.
Savannah-Chatham Metropolitan Police are seeking the public’s help in identifying the two Hispanic men who were in a conversion van that is possibly tan in color.
