SAVANNAH, GA (April 29, 2013): A 70-year-old Savannah woman was in serious but stable condition tonight after her car struck two trees on Abercorn Street in Ardsley Park.
Ruth A. Vanderhorst of an Inglesby Court address was transported to Memorial University Medical Center after the 5 p.m. crash at Abercorn and East 48th Street.
She was driving a silver 2011 Toyota Corolla northbound on Abercorn in the right lane when she drifted to the right side of the street. The car struck the bottom portion of an Oak Tree and then crashed head-on into another tree.
She was extricated from the wreckage by Savannah Fire.
The Major Accident Investigation Team (MAIT) of the Savannah-Chatham Metropolitan Police Department continues to investigate the accident.
