SAVANNAH, GA (October 9, 2014) The “Kid Art” project made its round this past Summer with Central Precints Roll Call in the Street. The four, foam core boards were set up at each roll call so that the kids could be a part of a community art project.
Its purpose was to engage the children in community at each partiuclar event. These small events used this creative approach to provide kids in the Liveoak , Cuyler Brownsville and the Cann Park/Jackson Park Communities a chance to be meaningful contributors in the social aspect of a community building. SCMPD Precinct 3 “Kids” were thrilled to draw whatever came to mind and create a work of art that will soon hang in the Children’s Wing at Candler Hospital for years to come.
The kids and young adults at Urban Hope, an after School Program held at 1601 Barnard and lead by Mrs. Covardis Broadie helped to finish out the project by filling in the areas that werent completed during the Roll Call. Shadows youth group also assisted with completing the project.
A project update will be posted when the art project is unveiled at Candler Hospital.
