SAVANNAH – The Savannah Police Department has arrested 20-year-old Tyquan Floyd and 18-year-old Ryan Scott in connection to an armed robbery that occurred on Feb. 3 in the 2000 block of Tuskegee St. They were both taken into custody the same day.
At approximately 3:05 p.m., SPD responded to a report of an armed robbery on Tuskegee St. After initial investigation, officers determined the incident had occurred during an online marketplace exchange. No injuries were reported.
Floyd and Scott were each detained and questioned. Following questioning, both were charged with armed robbery. Scott was also charged with aggravated assault.
“When doing these marketplace transactions, never do them at home,” said Sgt. Joshua Flynn, SPD Public Information Officer. “Pick a safe place, like a police precinct parking lot. The Savannah Police Department offers all of our locations for you to do so during regular business hours.”
Sgt. Flynn also recommended electronic payment for online marketplace transactions, as carrying cash could be unsafe. A recent PSA involving these safety tips has been published by the Savannah Police Department, available at www.youtube.com/@SavannahPoliceDepartment.
The investigation is ongoing. Anyone with information should call CrimeStoppers, 912-234-2020, or submit an anonymous tip through the SPD mobile app.
