SAVANNAH, GA (June 12, 2021) – Savannah Police Department’s Traffic Investigation Unit is investigating a pedestrian-involved crash on Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard today that resulted in injuries to a 74-year-old Savannah woman.
Around 5 p.m. officers responded to a crash at MLK Boulevard near Gwinnett Street and discovered Diana Black suffering from injuries after being struck by a Toyota Camry that had been traveling northbound. She was transported to a hospital in critical condition.
According to a preliminary investigation, Black was attempting to cross the roadway when she was struck the vehicle driven by Rosa Sutton, 81, of Savannah. Black was not in a crosswalk at the time of the incident.
The crash remains under investigation.
