SAVANNAH, GA (April 16, 2015): A 14-year-old boy was arrested today, when a cellular phone reported stolen after a robbery, was found in his possession during a truancy sweep.
Savannah-Chatham Metropolitan Police stopped the teen while walking south on May and Emerald streets during school hours. Detectives confirmed that the teen was present when the Samsung Galaxy S5 cell phone was snatched from a tourist in Madison Square on Tuesday, April 7. He was accompanied by two other teenage boys during the incident.
Additionally, Metro detectives confirmed the teen’s involvement in a second cell phone theft at an East Park Avenue cafe, also on April 7.
The teen is charged with theft by receiving and party to a crime – robbery by sudden snatching. His two accomplices remain at large.
