SAVANNAH, GA (October 8, 2015): Savannah-Chatham Metropolitan Police Department’s Downtown Precinct detectives arrested Adam John Bailey, 21, on Wednesday morning and charged him in four burglaries.
At about 4:35 a.m. Metro responded to the 500 block of Selma Street following reports of a male fitting Bailey’s description attempting to enter an apartment before being chased away by occupants. The occupants notified police. Minutes later, Bailey was located and taken into custody on Purse and Berrien streets.
Investigators linked two additional burglaries in that apartment community to Bailey. Keys reported stolen in each incident were found in Bailey’s possession at the time of his arrest. Detectives also linked Bailey to commercial burglaries on the 600 block of Cohen Street and the 400 block of Martin Luther King, Jr. Boulevard. The business on MLK Boulevard sustained several thousand dollars in structural damage during this incident. Detectives believe the burglaries occurred between midnight and 4:30 a.m.
Bailey is charged with three counts of burglary, criminal trespass, interference with government property and obstruction by false information. This investigation continues.
