February 2, 2022 Update: Attributable to a unified effort between multiple SPD units and the Major Crimes Unit, Tyrhee Edwards, 25, was identified as the suspect responsible for multiple overnight burglaries from Jan. 20-21. During the string of incidents, one homeowner received a non-life-threatening gunshot wound to the arm. He is being held at the Chatham County Detention Center on charges of burglary, home invasion, aggravated assault, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, and the possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime.

SAVANNAH, GA (January 21, 2022) – Savannah Police detectives urgently request the community’s help identifying a male suspect connected to multiple burglary incidents overnight.
Between approximately 11:40 p.m., January 20, and 3 a.m. today, officers responded to reports of an unidentified man entering a total of five residences spanning from Central to Northwest precincts. When the suspect attempted to enter a residence on the 500 block of E. 34th Street around 11:50 p.m., he encountered the adult male homeowner who tried to block the suspect from entering. The homeowner received a non-life-threatening gunshot wound to the arm before the suspect fled.
In two subsequent incidents, the male entered occupied residences and proceeded into a physical altercation with an adult female occupant before fleeing one of the homes. The female victim did not receive any injuries and no additional injuries were reported in these cases.
The suspect is described as a black male with a thin build wearing a black mask, grey hoodie, and black pants.
SPD encourages City residents to remain vigilant in securing their homes, including garage doors and windows and turning on porch lights, if applicable.
