Savannah – The Savannah Police Department has arrested Charles Barnes, 54, in connection with a Sept. 20 homicide in the 1200 block of Rogers St.
Officers originally responded to the scene at around 9:20 p.m. based on a ShotSpotter report. Upon arrival, SPD discovered the victim suffering from a gunshot wound. Lifesaving measures were attempted, but he succumbed to his injuries on the scene.
Barnes was taken into custody on Oct. 8 and charged with murder, aggravated assault, possession of a gun during the commission of a felony and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.
