SAVANNAH – The Savannah Police Department has arrested 23-year-old Jamir Lewis in connection with a homicide in the 10000 block of Abercorn St. He was taken into custody on July 2.
On May 31 Southside Precinct officers responded at approximately 2:05 p.m. to a reported shooting in the area. Upon their arrival they found the victim suffering from a gunshot wound. EMS transported him to Memorial Health University Medical Center for further treatment, where he ultimately succumbed to his injury.
Lewis was transported to the Chatham County Detention Center and charged with murder.
