SAVANNAH – The Savannah Police Department is investigating a fatal May 31 shooting in the 10000 block of Abercorn St. that resulted in the death of an adult male.
Southside Precinct officers responded at approximately 2:05 p.m. to a reported shooting in the area. Upon their arrival they found the victim suffering from a gunshot wound. EMS transported him to Memorial Health University Medical Center for further treatment, where he ultimately succumbed to his injury.
Early investigation suggests that the victim was known to the offender and that they had met to conduct a transaction. Both subjects were armed when the shooting occurred.
