UPDATE (March 13, 2023): Nazentea Phillips, 18, died March 8 as a result of his injuries. This case is being investigated as a homicide. The investigation remains ongoing. All parties involved in the incident have been identified. No charges have been filed at this stage in the investigation.
SAVANNAH, GA (March 6, 2023): Savannah Police detectives are investigating a March 5 shooting on E. 55th Street that injured an 18-year-old.
Just before midnight, officers responded to the 1200 block of E. 55th Street and discovered Nazentea Phillips suffering from gunshot wounds. He was transported to Memorial Medical Center for treatment of life-threatening injuries.
Detectives continue to investigate the incident. The initial indication is that the shooting was an isolated incident.
