Savannah – The Savannah Police Department is investigating an Aug. 22 shooting in the 700 block of Wheaton St. that left two adult victims with non-life-threatening injuries.
Officers initially responded to the scene at around 8:45 p.m. based on ShotSpotter reports. Once on the scene, investigators collected evidence and spoke to witnesses who indicated an unknown group had fired on a vehicle traveling west on Wheaton St., wounding two people inside of the vehicle. The two gunshot wound victims were transported to Memorial Health University Medical Center for treatment and were later discharged.
No arrests have been made at this time. The investigation is ongoing. Anyone with information should call CrimeStoppers, 912-234-2020, or submit an anonymous tip through the SPD mobile app.
