Update: Lucius Young Jr. has been arrested in connection with the fatal shooting in the 700 block of Wheaton Street on March 24. He was taken into custody by the US Marshals and the Savannah Police on April 22. He has been charged with murder.
SAVANNAH – The Savannah Police detectives are investigating a March 24 fatal shooting in the 700 block of Wheaton Street that left one adult female deceased.
Officers responded to the scene at around 2:35 a.m. on reports of a gunshot. Once there, they discovered the victim suffering from a serious wound. She was treated on the scene and transported to Memorial Health University Medical Center where she later succumbed to her wound.
