SAVANNAH, GA (October 31, 2022): A weekend operation resulted in 45 arrests as well the seizure of drugs, guns and a stolen vehicle.
“We have said that we would crack down on illegal activity, illegally possessed firearms and drugs in our community, and that is what we are doing,” Chief Lenny Gunther. “This latest Total Focus operation has been our largest yet with close to 50 arrests. Our operations and daily policing strategies will continue to put a laser focus on the factors leading to crime to curb future activity and make lasting effects on the safety and security of our citizens and visitors to our city.”
Total Focus ran Oct. 28-29 and focused on areas and factors that are leading to criminal activity and safety issues. This is the fourth two-day Total Focus operation since August.
During this operation, officers made 20 felony arrests, one misdemeanor arrest and 24 DUI arrests. They recovered seven firearms, three of which were stolen, and one stolen vehicle. They also seized fentanyl, crack cocaine, cocaine and marijuana.
The combined four operations have resulted in 128 arrests, the recovery of six stolen vehicles, 17 firearms (eight stolen) and various illegal narcotics.
